Proudly Canadian
Regethermic Canada is a Canadian company since 1971, a pioneer in institutional culinary innovation.
Who are we?
At Régéthermic, we design, manufacture, and distribute specialized kitchen equipment for hospitals, long-term care facilities (CHSLD), and other healthcare institutions. Our products, such as the Tango meal-tray assembly lines and our reusable or compostable dinnerware, are engineered to meet the exacting standards of the healthcare environment. Our approach is founded on close collaboration with care teams, directly in the field.
By combining hands-on expertise with attentive listening to our partners’ needs, we help optimize the efficiency of food-service operations while ensuring the continuity and reliability of the services delivered to patients. We support each client with precision through our consulting, training, and technical-support services.

The Birth of the Régéthermie Principle
Between the 1950s and 1970s, the rapid growth of the road transport industry in France led to a growing demand for hot meals for truck drivers traveling long distances. Roadside rest stops began offering hot meals, but quickly faced a challenge: they couldn’t provide ready-to-serve meals at any time without compromising on taste and food quality.
The solution was the creation of Régéthermie. Meals were prepared in advance and kept warm under a metal cloche with embers placed on top. This method maintained the food's temperature without drying it out, preserving its taste and texture.
Today, this same principle lives on in the equipment developed by Régéthermic Canada.

Founding of Régéthermic
Founded in Québec in 1969, Régéthermic was a pioneer in introducing the first meal distribution and rethermalization systems in North America, under the “Régéthermic” brand manufactured in France.

Electro-Calorique rethermalization carts
In 2003, Régéthermic Canada obtained the exclusive representation of the French company Electro-Calorique, specialized in the manufacturing of meal distribution and rethermalization systems using thermo-conduction technology. This method delivers optimal food quality by transferring energy directly into the food, without relying on forced air, thus preserving better taste and texture.
-
Socamel rethermalization carts
In 2009, Régéthermic Canada became the official Canadian distributor for the French company Socamel, a leader in meal distribution and rethermalization using convection technology. Despite strong competition, we successfully carried out installations in both Ontario and Québec by offering solutions best suited to the specific needs of each client, thanks to the complementarity of the two technologies.

Launch of the Régéthermic dishware line
In 2016, backed by 50 years of expertise in the sector, Régéthermic Canada took a new step by becoming a manufacturer. The goal: to offer clients local products, of higher quality, and with shorter delivery times.
In collaboration with Les Plastiques Opto in Longueuil, Régéthermic Canada developed a unique line of dishware optimized for food rethermalization, delivering high-performance results.
-
Launch of the TANGO assembly line
In 2017, Régéthermic Canada continued its growth as a manufacturer with the launch of an ambitious and groundbreaking project: the design and production of a compact, fully modular meal assembly line called TANGO. Named after the dance for its rhythm and coordination, the TANGO line is ergonomic, LEAN, and completely modular.
To bring this project to life, Régéthermic Canada developed a world-first refrigeration unit, delivering performance that exceeds all current market standards. The first TANGO units were delivered in 2023 and are already in operation in the majority of Maisons des aînés across Québec, with outstanding success.

Launch of eco-friendly biodegradable dishware
In 2024, Régéthermic Canada committed to an eco-friendly approach by developing a line of fully compostable dishware, replacing traditional single-use, disposable, and recyclable products.
